This post is just like a rendezvous with science. Let me make one thing clear to you guys, science is just not a matter of practice. Science requires understanding the concepts and most importantly their application in life.

In this post I have tried putting up a plan regarding how to study science and understand the concepts well.

For chapters like SCHOOL OF ELEMENTS, ACID AND BASE CHEMISTRY, MAGIC OF CHEMICAL REACTIONS, METALS AND NON-METALS AND CARBON AND CARBON COMPOUNDS understanding the electronic configuration is very important. To understand the electronic configuration you must understand the atomic number and for that you must know the periodic table.

IS UNDERSTANDING THE CONFIGURATION SO IMPORTANT?

YES

WHY?

Because:

(1)        You are asked questions regarding the ionic composition of elements.

(2)    Regarding the covalent compounds.

(3)    They may also ask you how a particular ionic or covalent compound is formed.

(4)    Or sometimes they give you two elements and ask their reaction with each other.

(5)    Or they ask how an oxide of a particular element is formed.

(6)   Concepts like atomic radius, valency, molecules and equations are all based on electronic configuration.

So doing just the periodic table very sincerely is going to help you a lot.

NOTE: There is one application available which you can download, “THE PERIODIC TABLE.” It provides you everything regarding elements. Please take care that elements like Cobalt, Iron etc. have a bit different configuration. Knowing electronic configuration up to Ca (20) is enough. Please do not invest more time on this once your school is started do it now cause now you have a lot of time.

For chapters like ELECTRIC SPARK and ELECTROMAGNETISM: 

Chapter like electric spark is a vast chapter including a lot of concepts and numerical. To take it in an easy way you can divide the chapter concept wise and study a particular concept. Then solve the numerical regarding the particular concept.

Chapter like electromagnetism requires a strong imagination power. The AC and DC motors and generators in this chapter are very important and for that you must understand the principle of a current carrying conductor placed in a magnetic field experiences a force and electromagnetic induction.

NOTE: You can watch an animated video on you tube regarding the working of electric motor and electric generator.

FOR chapters like WONDERS OF LIGHT PART-1 and PART-2: 

Again PART-1 includes a lot of numerical. So you can follow the same strategy as for electric spark. The information regarding the eye and its defects is very important. There is a lot of information regarding eye; the best way to keep all that in mind is using a diagram Technic. It means you have to draw a diagram of the eye and keep in mind the information regarding each part when you draw that part. (Thanks to Shashikant Sir, our science teacher, for teaching us the eye diagram in such an efficient and amazing manner.) PART-2 is more theoretical and involves a lot of definitions. These definitions are asked most of the times thus comprehending them as they are written in our text is a must thing to do. PART-2 also includes a bit of calculation part but it is easy when we concentrate on it. We will look after it in detail when. To solve the numerical questions regarding the mirror and lens it is very essential to understand the signs and conventions regarding the lens and the mirror.

STRIVING FOR BETTER ENVIRONMENT PART-1: Comprehending the primary and secondary pollutants is essential. Eutrophication is an important concept along with the two mentioned above.
